Having good neighbors can often be a blessing. If you are one of those people that are blessed to have a good neighbor, it is important that you be a good neighbor in return. Return favors

If your neighbor looks after your pet while you are away on vacation or helps you around the house, offer to do the same in return.

Thank you notes

Write a thank-you note to neighbors who do something for you to show your gratitude. You can also thank them by baking a batch of cookies or something you know they like and bringing it over to them.

Acknowledgment

Greet a neighbor whenever you see them, speak politely, and be considerate of them. Do not do things that will disturb them or cause a problem like playing loud music late at night or running the lawnmower in the early hours of the morning.

Inviting a neighbor over for tea or coffee not only shows a neighbor’s appreciation but also is a great way to get to know them and create a friendship.

Listen

If a neighbor shares a problem listen to them patiently. Everyone has problems and often just wants someone to sit and listen to them. If they are facing difficulty, stand by and be a source of support.
